Urban Sky Lab: Join us at Intertraffic Amsterdam 2026

FABRICations and Kennedy Approach will present Urban Sky Lab at RAI during Intertraffic Amsterdam 2026. From 10 to 13 March, you can explore a physical exhibition that illustrates how new forms of aviation can be spatially integrated into the Netherlands. As part of our community, we would like to invite you to visit and join the sessions during the week free of charge.

Urban Sky Lab is a collaborative research initiative by FABRICations and Kennedy Approach. The project explores how new forms of aviation, including drones and other low-altitude aircraft, can be spatially integrated into Dutch cities, ports and airports.

As low-altitude airspace becomes increasingly used, new spatial and governance questions arise. Urban Sky Lab examines how airspace relates to public space, infrastructure, liveability and safety, focusing on the spatial and policy conditions needed to responsibly embed innovative aviation within existing urban environments.

The project is supported by a consortium of local, regional and national government bodies and a stimulating fund, all committed to a sustainable built environment. Partners include the Province of Noord-Holland, the Province of Zuid-Holland, the Province of Flevoland, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Waterstaat, and the Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie. Urban Sky Lab builds further on insights from an earlier design sprint organised by the architecture centre of Amsterdam (ARCAM) and Amsterdam Drone Lab.

The outcomes of this exploratory research are presented in a physical exhibition at RAI during Intertraffic Amsterdam. As the world’s leading trade fair for smart, safe and sustainable mobility, Intertraffic brings together more than 30,000 professionals, governments and companies to explore the future of infrastructure and transport. Within this context, Urban Sky Lab connects the future of innovative aviation to wider conversations about integrated mobility systems and the spatial development of infrastructure.

We warmly invite you to visit the exhibition from 10 to 13 March 2026 and join the conversation on the spatial future of innovative aviation in the Netherlands.
