Yesterday we had our first collective working session for the Izmir Metabolic Cycling Network: a strategic vision for cycling as a sustainable urban development tool in Turkey.
With our project partner WRI Türkiye Sürdürülebilir Şehirler, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Municipality of Izmir, we organized and directed the workshop in the beautiful venue of the Tarihi Havaga Fabrika Kultur Merkezi. Eric Frijters and Luca De Stefano met more than 30 city administrators, planners, experts and stakeholders. We evaluated our preliminary analysis and identified crucial issues for the project. We thank the acting Mayor of Izmir, the Dutch Embassy delegation and all the other participants for such contribution. We look forward for future sessions.
