FABRICations and World Resources Institute Turkey have been selected by the Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie internationalization call to develop a project coalition for sustainable urban development in Turkey.
The selected proposal, the Izmir Metabolic Cycling Network, is a research by design project, built on the framework of Urban Metabolisms. It is a low tech, smart solution on multiple levels. The project aims to empower existing infrastructure in the city with new features, integrating various functions in one multipurpose system. Cycling becomes a vehicle for sustainability.
